Up the Mountain and down the escarpment
Hamilton is split by the Niagara Escarpment, and locals call the part on top of it the Mountain. A number of neighbourhoods on its north end were built in the 1950s, typically as one-storey brick bungalows with established trees. We work on both sides of the escarpment, with the equipment in the vehicle and a standard power outlet in your home as the only requirement.
Heading up or down the escarpment is part of a day in Hamilton, and we plan for it. What matters to you is simpler: tell us the area and the rooms, and we confirm a time.
A bungalow with a finished basement can have carpet in several rooms, so a visit often covers the living room, the bedrooms and a lower-level family room at once. Steam clears each in turn, and the entrance and hallway, where the traffic is heaviest, get extra attention.
Smaller homes make rugs matter more. In a compact living room, a single area rug carries the whole space, and it takes the most traffic and the most spills. Those get the most careful look at the start of a visit.
Older lower-city houses and the rugs in them
The lower city has the oldest housing in Hamilton. Durand, at the foot of the escarpment, was largely built up between the 1840s and the end of the 19th century, and Westdale was laid out in the 1920s as a planned neighbourhood near McMaster University. In houses with that much history, a good area rug is part of the room.
Steam suits them because it puts very little water into a rug. We use a lower-moisture setting for anything delicate and we ask what the rug is made of before we start. If you inherited it and do not know, send a photo and we will tell you what to expect.
Long, narrow stairs are common in older houses, and they are a carpet cleaning job of their own. We work them tread by tread, and the strip down the middle gets extra attention.
Whatever the street, we ask the same questions: what is on the floor, how often is it walked on, and what do you want it to look like when we leave. Those three answers decide how long we spend on each room and which setting we use.
Dundas, Ancaster and Stoney Creek
Beyond the city core, we serve Dundas, Ancaster, Stoney Creek, Waterdown, Binbrook, Flamborough and Winona. Wherever you are in Hamilton, the visit is planned around how many rooms and rugs you have.
Send us the room count and a photo or two. We tell you what to expect for a stubborn stain before we start, because some dyes and bleach marks are permanent. It is better to know that at the door than to be surprised afterwards.
Dundas and Ancaster sit in and below the escarpment too, and the same method applies there as anywhere else in the city: steam, microfibre, very little water and no detergent.
Dust mites, pets and what steam leaves behind
Carpet is where dust mites settle, and heat is what kills them. High-temperature steam destroys dust mites and bacteria on contact, and the microfibre pass lifts out what the steam loosens. Pet hair and dander come out of the pile with it.
Odour is the other thing carpet holds. A pet accident, a spilled drink that soaked through to the underlay or years of damp boots leave bacteria in the fibre, and fragrance only covers them. Steam kills the bacteria that cause the smell, so the improvement lasts longer than a perfume would.
Since nothing is sprayed on and no detergent is used, there is no film left in the fibres and the carpet is safe for kids and pets once dry. For winter, the entrance rug is where salt and slush collect, and it is the first thing to clean.
To book, message us on WhatsApp or call 647-609-2485 with your neighbourhood, the rooms you have in mind and anything delicate. A photo of the rug or the worst patch makes the conversation faster.
